Trichter & LeGrand PC is a prominent criminal defense law firm with its main office located in Houston, Texas which specializes in DWI`s with four attorneys. 

We are currently seeking a qualified self-motivated mid-level Legal Assistant to start immediately full-time in Houston, Texas. We are not looking for any lawyers, only a Legal Assistant.


The Legal Assistant will be responsible for the support of one attorney. This is not a remote position. The Legal Assistant will:

  • Handle communications with clients, schedule appointments, take client phone calls and contact clients when necessary. Maintain legal file binders, maintain confidential files 
  • Manage legal documentation and correspondence in strict confidence
  • Help draft court and legal documents, court filings, motions 
  • Heavy dictation by telephone, Zoom and in person
  • Handle telephone communications with court, client, and prosecutor’s office
  • Receive and record client’s initial retainer and all payments made during pending case
  • Monitor deadlines, juggle calendars
  • Able to research, locate and develop case relevant information
  • Administrative duties include but are not limited to ~ making copies, scanning documents, opening mail, filing, assist with accounting and billing, data entry and various other duties.


A 3-5 year commitment is needed. Proven working experience in criminal law and DWI’s is preferred, but not a must. 

Ideal candidate will be highly responsible, organized and detail oriented. Must have strong verbal communication/proficiency in English, interpersonal skills, the ability to work independently, proficient in MS Office applications and be a team player.

Must be familiar with Zoom and Google meetings. Must have the ability to use Outlook Email. Highly skilled candidate will be self-motivated, a quick learner who has experience typing and must be able to type at least 55 wpm for some light dictation at times. Must have knowledge of legal terminology and process. 


The ideal candidate will be a non-smoker, have no prior criminal history and dependable transportation.

Qualified candidates must have advanced computer knowledge, Professionalism, Meeting Planning, Scheduling, Telephone Skills, Legal Administration Skills, Client Relationships, and Confidentiality.


Eligible for 2 weeks paid vacation and 5 personal/sick days after 1 year; paid holidays; salary will be based on experience with a 6-month review.
