What is the CogScreen? It is a specialized, computer-based psychological test designed specifically for pilots. It measures memory, mental speed, visual perception, and "divided attention" (multi-tasking) capabilities.
Why it matters: The CogScreen is designed to detect subtle brain dysfunction that a standard neurological exam might miss. For a pilot in recovery, passing the CogScreen is often the final hurdle to obtaining a special issuance medical certificate.
